Notice is hereby given that the City of Joseph City Council will meet on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 7:00 pm in the City of Joseph Community Center to consider the following applications.
APPEAL#2025-01 of CUP#2025-01 CITY OF JOSEPH LIBRARY – submitted by Dan Larman on behalf of the City of Joseph. The request is to use the existing building for the Joseph Public Library. The subject property is described as tax lot 7700 of Assessor's Map 02S45E29CC and in the Select Residential (R-1) zone. It is more commonly known as 100 N. East St, Joseph, Oregon 97846 and consists of approximately 12,870 square feet (0.3 acres).
APPEAL#2025-02 of CUP#2025-03 ZURITA-WELLENS – submitted by Keith Wellens on behalf of John Zurita. The application requests a 32' by 30' garage with a second-floor residence. The existing residence will be removed after the proposed residence is complete. The subject property is described as tax lot 119 of Assessor's Map 02S45E30DA and is more commonly known as 709 N Main St, Joseph, Oregon 97846. It is in the Commercial (C) zone and consists of approximately 0.3 acres.
Written and oral comments may be presented at the hearing or directly to the Planning Department at City Hall or mailed to PO Box 15, Joseph, Oregon 97846. Written comments must be received by 5:00 pm on April 30, 2025 or submitted at the hearing. Comments must address how the application does or does not comply with the applicable criteria.
A copy of the application and all documents and evidence submitted by or on behalf of the applicant are available for inspection at City Hall during normal business hours at no cost. A copy of the staff report will be available for inspection at no cost at least seven days prior to the hearing. Copies will be provided upon request at reasonable cost.
Failure to raise an issue at the hearing, in person or by letter, or failure to provide statements or evidence sufficient to afford the decision makers an opportunity to respond to the issue precludes appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals on that issue. Failure of any person entitled to notice to receive notice shall not invalidate the City's action, provided the City can demonstrate notice was sent.
