COMMENT PERIOD
NOTICE IS GIVEN that Umatilla County, will receive "safety-net" revenues under the "Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000", PL 106-393. PL 106-393 requires each county to expend a percentage of its "safety-net" payments on various kinds of projects pursuant to Title III of the legislation or, alternatively, to return that portion of its safety net payment to the U.S. Treasury. Umatilla County Board of Commissions elected to designate 5 percent of its safety-net payment for projects under Title III. Title III projects proposed to be funded by Umatilla County are as follows:
Northwest Management, Inc. - $44,000 for update of West Umatilla County Community Wildfire Protection Plan
The Umatilla County Board of Commissions is opening a 45 day public comment period to invite all person wishing to review and to make written comments on Umatilla County's proposed projects. The proposed projects may be reviewed at the Umatilla County Board of Commissioner's Office, Room 121, Umatilla County Courthouse, 216 SE 4th Street, Pendleton, Oregon. Written comments can be mailed to, or dropped off at, that address. All comments must be submitted in writing and received by the Board of Commissioners on or before 4:00 p.m. January 26, 2026.
