UTILITY WORKER I
The City of Prairie City is accepting applications to fill a Public Works Utility Worker I position. The Utility Worker I perform a variety of tasks associated with Municipal Public Works. Worker must be able to operate light, moderate and heavy equipment. Requires prolonged standing, stooping and lifting in adverse weather conditions. Assists with daily routines associated with the maintenance of Parks, Streets, Water, Wastewater and Municipal Infrastructure. Must have or be able to obtain Water Distribution and Treatment level 1, Cross Connection Specialist, Wastewater Collections level 2 and Wastewater Treatment level 1 certifications within the required time limits. Must be over 18 with a high school diploma or GED, have a valid Oregon driver's license, clean DMV record, pass a background check and be able to obtain First Aid/CPR and ODOT Flagger Certifications within 6 months of hire date. Employee is required to be on call on a rotating schedule, live and be able to respond to after hour call outs and emergencies within 20 minutes. Starting wage is dependent on experience and certifications. Position is full time with a generous benefits package.
